I'm thinking of returning to WoW
Cata. Deathwing's voice was excellent. Invading his realm was really nice. In the tour of his sights through Azeroth was a thing that many back in the days hated, but I actually loved this new way the game took. He sounded like a death metal band in the evenings, much like N'Zoth and Twisted ones. Ragnaros on the drums
Legion: Varian is Badass Demon-Killer? And big fights on the Broken Shore, yes! But as far as what story? It's hard to see anything else to say, but it's one I like. And Varian is always better than Andiun. I'm not sure I like this kiddo ... but I think he's a much better King than Greymane (Even although many of the desicions were made by Anduin was heavily influenced by Greymane ...)
BFA Film: This one is my absolute favorite. This whole Alliance-Horde is already kinda obsolete and only as a placeholder for times when no giant monster has to defeat (Only two expansions where they saw war, was BFA as well as MoP. And even in MoP there was more conflict between the factions than in BFA)
WotLK Arthas is the most renowned Lich King. Was there any other?
TBC If you aren't ready, Space Goats and Mana-Junkie-Elves? It's delicious and nostalgic.
Vanilla Vanilla film-based game. It's not necessary to create a massive story, but you should show the possibilities that this game offers. It was brilliant. And the animations were really impressive when they were released, but cinematics was among the biggest and most impressing things Blizz did in the past and they've managed to pull it off with good games at the time.
MoP ... I really hate this comic-relief-cinematic. Yes, one of the survivors gets dragged by an enormous panda. But I don't like this approach at all, especially when you consider this whole Kung-Fu-Panda-moviecrap that got in same time really big ... The similarities to MoP's cinematic style made it a terrible movie. It was well-made however. However ... the pandas were the biggest fluffy reason I don't really liked the expansion. Chen was the only Pandaren to be seen in Warcraft before MoP. And even he was one optional character in the optional campaign that was part of the expansion to Warcraft 3.
I thought the Sylvanas/Bolvar pre-patch film was quite good and I'd put it up there, at least for its twist ending. The breaking of the sky was shocking. In reality, I'd completely neglected the "Beyond the Veil" cinematic that was the official trailer film for the game. It's unfortunate, since it's a stunning animation, but it's completely forgettable and insignificant.
I'm thinking of returning to WoW, as I was a huge fan until the Cataclysm event. I absolutely loved the game until WotLK and I'm contemplating changing my mind about retail and going with Classic or Classic TBC. I'm a bit confused about the Classic and Classic TBC systems. Do these mean that I will not be able to use a Classic TBC character? If I make the Classic TBC character and they put out Classic WotLK will I not be able to use the character in Classic WotLK content? Don't really understand the progression through the various classic games and would love to have someone help in understanding the process for me.
