Since since then, EA has released new commissioner tools as well as other enhancements, including a major overhaul of its scouting tools. Madden 22 also introduced an enhanced scenario engine, season-long cuts, and coaching trees. But, fans continue highlight various areas where franchise mode may be better compared to its competitors, from the relative lack of customization to the multitude of bugs.

Although EA Sports wouldn't provide any more information, it is possible that additional enhancements are scheduled for in the near future. The updates could include the franchise relocation improvements promised in the initial roadmap for Madden 22. Expect more details in 2022.

Despite rumors suggesting EA Sports has cancelled the rest of the updates to the franchise mode to Madden 22, the developer/publisher insists there are still two updates scheduled for the feature.

I reached out to EA's representatives by email and received the following response, which was included in a couple of other publications.

"We are not averse to make comments on rumors or speculation. However, we're determined to improve Franchise as a part of our ongoing Madden NFL 22 live service and beyond. This includes two forthcoming Franchise updates that will be available within Madden NFL 22. We'll have more information about the updates during the coming year."

On a positive note, three players received boosts to their rating.
